It's not Walden Pond, but Boiseans love to stop and smell the roses at the Julia Davis Rose Garden. Once it was one of the premier PDA spots in town, but a fairly substantial remodel removed the nooks, crannies, and semi-hidden park benches and replaced them with, this is hard to believe, more roses.
Julia loved roses and there's more varieties here than you're likely to find at any local nursery. Just don't try to take any with you. The Man reportedly frowns on that. Think of the Rose Garden like the local strip bar with better fragrances; it's okay to look but don't touch.
Enjoy the pics.
For those of you who are confused by new-fangled technology, here's how to control the slide show:
- Click the little area at the top-right of the image that says "Click to Show/Hide Thumbnails" to do the obvious.
- To manually flip through the images, place your cursor over the center of the image, on the left edge to go back one image or on the right edge to go forward one image. A little arrow will display. Trust us.
