Parks & Spaces

Uncle Boise's outdoors duo, the Dupp Brothers, take you on a tour of Boise's public parks.

Did you know that Gordon S. Bowen wrote a book on Boise's parks? Neither did we, but we're working on a re-write.

Memorial Park

If you're passing by Fort St. and need to let the ankle-biters out to run like banshees, pull into Memorial Park for a stretch.

Come explore a park in a historic neighborhood, next to a historic school building. It has a great view and lots of stuff to keep even the most ADD child occupied.

If you're looking for a place in Northwest Boise to play some softball, tennis, or basketball, or just a place to let the kids play, try Sunset Park.

Fairmont Park

There's so much stuff to do at this park, you're gonna need to have a few more kids to enjoy it all.

A park is a park unless of course you live in Istanbul, or Tehran, or Caldwell. Then it's an oasis from your life.

Birds, animals, and water, all in the heart of a residential, slightly commercial, area. Views of the Foothills and a lot of natural charm. Not too bad for an old gravel pit.

What's more fun than taking your screaming kids to Pojos? Why, letting them run off some of that hell-spawn energy at a public park, of course!

Where else can you climb and crawl in a storm cloud, practice moves that make Spidey look like a pansy, and appreciate public art?

Welcome to the only park in Boise that sounds like it could have been named after a RCMP Mountie or an extinct elk but wasn't.

What's better than having a school right next to your house? A school and a public park! Give the kids this many things to do and they'll never come back home!

Leadville Avenue may not sound like an ideal locale to let the kiddies run and play, but it's a million times better than letting them lick the walls.

This is Redwood Park in West Boise. Unlike you, it's awesome.

What's more fun than playing in a local park? How about driving around the subdivision trying to find it?

Welcome to Municipal Park, a park with one of the most interesting histories of all Boise parks. Slide in right next to that bum over there and let Jack tell you a tale...

Welcome to Quarry View Park! Enjoy the beautiful view of two of Boise's most famous natural landmarks and the awesome playground equipment. Just don't make eye contact with the quirky Native American ghost in the corner.

This place is a sportsman's dream. After all, where else can you ride a rail while watching your bobber?

Build some good karma and stop in to pay your respects to some real life heroes.

If we were going to build a big commercial area and put a park somewhere near the middle, what would we call it?

Whether you're looking for a good place to run around or to launch an invasion of Table Rock, Lowder Park is a good place to start.

Cypress Park

Usually you should shy away from airplanes and water, but you'll thank us this time.

DeMeyer Park

Stopping by this little gem of a neighborhood park will give you pond envy.

Winstead Park

If this is your neighborhood park, consider yourself lucky. You could have a pickle park instead.

Baggley Park

Getting a park named after you is better than a gold watch any day, unless you need to pawn it.

Welcome to the coolest park. Ever.

Barber Park

Looking to float the Boise River? Then this is the spot for you.

If you've never noticed this park nestled at the base of Boise's Foothills, you need to open your eyes more.

Capitol Park

Come mingle with your elected officials and show them your mom packs a better lunch than theirs.

Skyline Park

If you've never heard of the Skyline Corporation, don't worry; neither had we. What you should know is that this little park named in their honor is quite a gem.

Jack finds a great neighborhood park with some of the newest equipment for kids to enjoy.

An old cowboy saying goes, "You never know which way the pickle is gonna squirt." Who knew that was true for a park as well?

If you've got a yearning for a history lesson and a spot to take the load off, you've come to the right place.

Fairmont Pool

A great place to hang out on a hot summer day, just hang on to your Baby Ruth.

Looking for a great place to just whoop and holler? Welcome to Cottonwood Park.
